Resident Evil: Afterlife in 3D

My first 3D movie as I had to go to the big city to see one. I didn't have high expectations with this movie plot-wise or acting-wise and was pleasantly surprised when it wasn't too bad. However the 3D didn't seem to agree with me, making me slightly nauseous and left me with a bit of a headache. I'm not sure if it's this movie in particular or the technology in general as I wear glasses for significant near-sightedness and astigmatism. I also found the 3D rather distracting when quick changes were made between shots that had different depths of field. It also made some action sequences hard for me to follow. I'm not sure if 3D is worth another try with a movie with better reviews or if I should just hope this trend goes away soon.

Star Trek: Deep Space Nine - 6.22 Valiant

Jake and Nog are rescued by the USS Valiant, a Defiant class ship operating covertly in Dominion Space and run by run by a group of elite Star Fleet cadets.

I was sort of surprised the Vulcan crew member was buying it. Nice change of pace episode but rather inconsequential in the scheme of things.

Lost Girl - 1.01 It's a Fae, Fae, Fae, Fae World

Bo rescues Kenzi from a man who had drugged her using her ability to drain the life out of him which attracts the attention of investigators.

Bo can seduce people into doing her will with a touch and drain the life out of them with a kiss. She is taken into Custody by Dylan and his partner. Then she is told they are Fae and so is she. A succubus in fact. She is forced into The Test and if she wins fights against two under Fae she can choose a side, light or dark. Dylan lends her some of his strength before the Test to help her survive. She defeats the two under fae and chooses neither, instead she sides with the humans. The Fae Elders are concerned that she passed the Test with no training and was hidden from them. Dylan tells Bo she's on a form of parole, no evidence for human to find, no messing in Fae business and no leaving town. Dylan is working at the 39th police division.

Hopefully this series finds it's feet in the next few episodes as I found the pilot rather flat and rushed.

Private Practice - 4.01 Take Two

The doctors gather to mourn Dell. Pete and Violet plan to get married.

I didn't enjoy the opening sequence's jumpy photography sytle. I still can't believe they killed Dell. And the moral quandaries abound as usual - helping a couple have another baby after the first died in a hot car and a jerk asking his mentally challenged brother for a kidney. At least Pete and Violet got married ending one game of will they or won't they.

Grey's Anatomy - 7.01 With You I'm Born Again

On his first day back after the shooting Derrick resign his position as chief. The doctors attempt to be cleared for surgery by the counsellor.

Yay, Lexie's back to a darker hair color and the chief is the chief again. I liked Christina's and Owen's wedding and I found the various reactions to the shooting intriguing. I could do with less gruesome surgery scenes though. I spend more time NOT looking at the screen during Grey's Anatomy then actual horror shows like Supernatural and The Vampire Diaries. There's something wrong with that.

Bones - 6.01 The Mastodon in the Room

Seven months after going their separate ways the team reunites to help Cameron with a case.

Goodness, I missed these characters. I no longer really care what the mysteries are about. this episodes could have been a lot stronger but I was just happy to see the team coming back together.

Nikita - 1.01 Pilot

Nikita begins her revenge against Division by planting her own operative, Alex, inside as a recruit.

Honestly, I miss the accents and Roy Dupuis, but this was a promising enough start to keep me watching, at least until the big guns return to Thursday night. My problem right now is that I wasn't seeing much chemistry between Michael and Nikita and that the equipment and facilities don't look high tech enough.
