Star Trek - 2.15 Journey to Babel

The Enterprise is taking a large group of ambassadors of the Federation to a council at Babel, including Mr. Spock's parents, the Vulcan Ambassador Sarek and his human wife, Amanda.

The old rare blood type trope, but you'd think they'd have a reasonable blood substitute by then.

Notes
  • Spock hasn't been home in 4 years, and hasn't to his father as a father in 18 years.
  • Sarek is secretly proud of his son being a Starfleet officer according to Amanda.
  • Vulcans used to execute people.
  • Sarek is 102 years old.
  • Gratuitous shirtless Kirk scene
  • Spock uses an experimental drug on himself to enable Bones to correct Sarek's heart defect.
  • Bones seemed rather to have a full sickbay with Sarek, Spock and Kirk in there as patients at the end.

Star Trek: Deep Space Nine - 6.17 Wrongs Darker Than Death or Night

Well, that explains some of Dukat's fascination with Kira. This begs the question of whether the reason he allowed Ziyal to stay with Kira was he considered Kira and Ziyal sisters after a fashion, with them both being the daughters of his Bajoran lovers.

Star Trek - 2.08 I, Mudd

Seems rather easy to hijack the Enterprise in this episode. I found using being illogical, even insane, to defeat the very logical androids to be cute but entertaining. Now I'm left wondering what ever happened to the Andromeda android colony and why they were used as a basis for Federation androids after some study.

Star Trek - 2.07 Catspaw

A Star Trek Halloween episode complete with scary noises, witches, ominous warnings, black cats, a magic wand and mysterious, powerful beings. I felt sorry for Spock during this entire episode. Star Trek cliques include: Kirk seducing the female alien and skimpy costumes for the female actors, Best part is the reveal at end of the aliens' actual form being a strange, blue, bird like creature that most resemble a bad, kid's art project. One spaceship out of five.

Star Trek - 2.06 Doomsday Machine

Why in the world would Kirk stay behind on the damaged ship to prepare it for being towed? Wouldn't an extra engineer make more sense, especially with Scotty present on the damaged ship if command decisions needed to be made? After that little logic dilemma this is an enjoyable Classic Trek episode despite the Doomsday Machine looking like a deformed, space-faring log even with the special effects upgrade. I love Spock's line: "Vulcan's never bluff." Yet another transporter malfunction - given the transporter's unreliability why would anyone rely on it?
