The Salvatore brothers plan to force Elena to reclaim her emotions. Elijah tests Rebekah's commitment to becoming human again. Bonnie has trouble coming to grip with Jeremy's death. Mystic Falls holds Senior Prom.

The Following - 1.14 The End is Near
Joe plans to leave the cult compound as the FBI is closing in.
Six out of ten.
I find Joe less interesting the more erratically he behaves.
Why would police doing the door-to-door not be familiar with the appearance of known cult member? And I won't even mention the stupidity of no screening for suspects, IDs or apparently weapons at the evacuation centre.

Alcatraz - 1.13 Tommy Madsen
Rebecca pursues Tommy Madsen, her grandfather and the man who killed her partner.
I'm getting sick of shows that open with a scene and then go back X hours to tell us how we got there. It's happening too often if you ask me and should be reserved for special purposes, instead of lazy story telling.
That was a rather disappointing and not very illuminating season finale and I doubt I'll watch next season if it gets renewed.

Terra Nova - 1.04 What Remains
A research outpost encounters a new pathogen which causes memory loss and paranoia.
Amnesia shouldn't be used a plot device until regular viewers understand the tragedy, significance and irony of what the characters have forgotten.

Pan Am - 1.01 Pilot
A Pan AM flight crew breaks in a new cutter jet on its maiden from New York to London.
I can't see the attraction. I'm not a fan of the time period nor did I like any of the characters. I just keep on thinking the CGI budget could have been used to a good SF series.

Fringe - 4.01 Neither Here Nor There
The two Fringe divisions begins to work together while the Observers want to remove all traces of Peter having ever lived to adulthood. Olivia investigates the murder of Lincoln Lee's FBI partner.
This show needed a third and fourth reality like a hole in the head. Good grief. Two universes weren't confusing enough for the audience. This show isn't good enough or fun enough for me to continue keeping trap of this many details.
I was rather disappointed that Joe Flanigan's character died in the opening scenes. I'm also annoyed that Peter was still missing at the end of the episode.

Star Trek: The Next Generation - 4.04 Suddenly Human
The Enterprise brings a human male teenager who had been raised by Talarians.
Picard's difficulty with children is revisited. I'm wondering if they were trying to attract a younger audience this season as this is the third episode in a row to feature younger guest stars. You'd think the soundproofing in a 24th century star ship my be better. The resolution of the episode felt rather rushed.

Stargate SG-1 - 1.21 Politics
A Senator visits the facility with the intent on closing the Stargate project.
It was Senator Kinsey, chairman of appropriations committee.
There was lots of arguing around tables and use of clips from old episodes which could be helpful to someone who missed the first few episodes, but rather boring to watch, It was a long set up for a season finale, especially when I believed from the start that the senator would change his mind, via something happening. Basically low budget filler.

Lost Girl - 1.01 It's a Fae, Fae, Fae, Fae World
Bo rescues Kenzi from a man who had drugged her using her ability to drain the life out of him which attracts the attention of investigators.
Bo can seduce people into doing her will with a touch and drain the life out of them with a kiss. She is taken into Custody by Dylan and his partner. Then she is told they are Fae and so is she. A succubus in fact. She is forced into The Test and if she wins fights against two under Fae she can choose a side, light or dark. Dylan lends her some of his strength before the Test to help her survive. She defeats the two under fae and chooses neither, instead she sides with the humans. The Fae Elders are concerned that she passed the Test with no training and was hidden from them. Dylan tells Bo she's on a form of parole, no evidence for human to find, no messing in Fae business and no leaving town. Dylan is working at the 39th police division.
Hopefully this series finds it's feet in the next few episodes as I found the pilot rather flat and rushed.

Private Practice - 4.01 Take Two
The doctors gather to mourn Dell. Pete and Violet plan to get married.
I didn't enjoy the opening sequence's jumpy photography sytle. I still can't believe they killed Dell. And the moral quandaries abound as usual - helping a couple have another baby after the first died in a hot car and a jerk asking his mentally challenged brother for a kidney. At least Pete and Violet got married ending one game of will they or won't they.

Stargate SG-1 - 1.19 Tin Man
After returning from an advanced world whose lone survivor claims to have made them "better", the team discovers that their consciousnesses have apparently apparently been transferred to robotic bodies.
The not so surprising resolution of them having been copied, not transferred, leaves the sticky question of what happened to copies of O'Neill, Sam and Daniel once the originals left. O'Neil spends most of the episode annoyed which isn't as entertaining as the writer intended.

Stargate SG-1 - 1.16 Cor'ai
This is my first time through this series and I just started with the previous episode. The episode offered an interesting opportunity to see the differences in perspectives, approaches and problem solving techniques between Daniel, O'Neill and Sam. I have yet to see an episode that would have hooked me as a viewer.

Star Trek: The Next Generation - 3.25 Transfigurations
I probably saw this episode a long time ago but I honestly don't remember it. Wasn't Sarek causing the crew to behave strangely just a few episodes ago? When did the Federation get the right to keep people they rescued against their will? I really don't remember Worf dying of a broken neck. I wonder how I managed to miss this episode over the years. It seems the Federation doesn't have much of a refugee policy in this episode (or their policy is to accept no refugees). A charge of "disruptive influence" sounds like a possible political dissident, not just a criminal.
Nice touches: Miles' kayaking injury. Quote of the Episode: Worf to Geordi: "I have much to teach you about women."
